Lance Carter(1-0) pitched in relief and was credited with the victory. He went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 walk reducing his ERA from 6.75 to 3.60. Columbus threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. Carter got help from Chad Cordero who was credited with his 1st save. B.J. Ryan(0-1) was given the loss in relief. 'It was a tough one to lose' said Frank Lopeman 'We'll get them next time out.'
